The Reserve Bank of India was setup on 01st April 1935 during the British Raj in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act 1934. The Central Office of the Reserve Bank was initially organised in Calcutta but was permanently moved to Mumbai in the year of 1937. The Central Office is where the Governor sits and where policies are formulated.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India’s central banking institution & it controls the monetary policy of the Indian Government. RBI assumes an important part in the development strategy of the Indian Government & as a leading member of the AFI is notably active in promoting financial inclusion policy. RBI is the Asian Clearing Union member.
Reserve Bank of India has its headquartered as the Zonal Offices at Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai & Kolkata. Each of these local boards consists of 5 members who represent regional interests and the interests of indigenous & cooperative banks.
RBI has total nineteen regional offices at various state at located Bhopal, Delhi, Bhubaneswar, Jammu, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Guwahati, Bangalore, Chennai, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Patna & Nagpur. It has nine sub offices at Shillong, Kochi, Ranchi, Srinagar, Agartala, Panji, Shimla, Dehradun & Raipur.
The Reserve Bank of India has 2 training colleges, first Agricultural Banking College in Pune & Reserve Bank Staff College in Chennai. It has 4 zonal training centers in Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi & Mumbai.

Age Relaxation :-
Scheduled Tribe (SC) / Scheduled Caste (ST) category candidates have age relaxation by 5 years which is up to 33 Years. Other Backward Classes (OBC) category candidates have age relaxation by 3 years which is up to 31 Years. Persons with Disabilities (PWD) categories candidates have age relaxation by 10 years for General PWD candidates, 13 years for OBC PWD candidates & 15 years for ST/SC PWD candidates. The Ex-servicemen candidates have age limit up to 50 years. A Divorced women & Widows have 10 year age relaxation.
Schedule (Important Dates) of this Recruitment :-
Online registration has been started from 30th May 2013 i.e. before yesterday and the last date (closing dt.) of online application is 20th June 2013. The online payment of fees was also started from 30th May 2013 & till continue to dt. 20th June 2013. Candidates can also offline payment through challan at affiliated bank branches from date 30th May 2013 to dt. 24th June 2013.
Examination Dates :-
The RBI Assistant examination will be held on 4 (Four) days which is 20th July 2013 (on Saturday), 21th July 2013 (on Sunday), 27th July 2013 (on Saturday) & 28th July 2013 (on Sunday).
Total Post :-
There are total 525 vacant post for the recruitment at various branches of Researve Bank of India.
Pay Scale :-
Selected Candidates will draw a starting basic pay of Rs. 8860 /- p.m. with increment 8040-410-9270-500-11270-550-13470-650-15420-720-16140-990-20100 for twenty years & other allowances like House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Dearness Allowance etcetera. The payable amount will be approximately Rs. 21419 /- for the Assistant.
The candidates who will be selected, they initially posted in Researve Bank of India’s office within the recruitment Zone for which they had applied. However, they are liable to be transferred in administrative exigencies to centers classified & grouped into East, West, North & South Zone offices as under:
The East Zone includes Guwahati, Kolkata, Bhubaneswar & Patna. The West Zone includes Bhopal, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Panaji & Pune. The North Zone includes Jaipur, Jammu & Kashmir, Kanpur, Chandigarh, Lucknow & New Delhi. The South Zone Includes Chennai, Kochi Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram & Hyderabad.
Application Fees :-
The ST, SC, EXS, PWD categories & Staff Members have not need pay for application. The General & OBC cast have to pay Rs. 400 /- for application / registration fees.
The candidates can pay their fees at Bank of Baroda, Indian Overseas Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Central Bank of India, United Bank of India, Bank of India & Punjab National Bank.
